2018 Teneo Summit

Recently I attended the 2018 Teneo Summit at the lovely Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, CA.

The theme for the Summit was Ignite.  As the industry is constantly changing, we have to take some time to adapt to changes and advances that we encounter every day.  We discussed challenges and shared ways on how to remove those obstacles.

Over the next two days I experienced 13 individual, one-on-one appointments with key hoteliers and learned about their properties, markets and what makes their hotel a good fit for our clients.  This is extremely beneficial not only to me as a Sourcing Manager but to the clients we serve.

We heard from Robyn Benincasa (Key Note Speaker) on the first day – Her story will not only inspire you but it will energize you to hear and see what she’s accomplished in the extreme sporting arena.  Another great speaker we heard from on day two was Jim Spellos, who understands the impact that virtual reality will have on the meetings industry.

Along with the one-on-one appointments and great speakers, Teneo offered workshops during the course of the Summit, where I had the opportunity to network, build relationships, learn new trends, explore technology and discuss sensitive issues as it relates to the current market landscape for third party planners.

TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS SUMMIT

  1. Heard from some of the top speakers and leaders in our industry.
  2. Hosted buyer one-on-one appointments in a private setting.
  3. Spending quality time with true partners and friends is priceless.

Our host hotel, Pechanga Resort & Casino, thought of every single aspect that makes an incredible and memorable event, and everyone was blown away. Wilson Creek Winery hit it out of the park at the Friday night dinner with entertainment, delicious food & wine pairings and Pechanga Resort & Casino provided an awesome closing night dinner on the last night.
